As a snack, cashews are in a league of their own – nutritious and delicious, whether enjoyed on their own or paired with some fresh fruit or yogurt muesli, for example. Did you know that the cashew nut is actually a drupe related to the mango and grows beneath a "false fruit" called the cashew apple? Our cashew nuts are sourced from Vietnam, where the fruit is removed and the cashews are carefully extracted from their shells. It's not practical to transport the entire cashew apple due to its delicate and soft shell. The cashew nuts are gently packaged and transported in bags, ensuring that as much of their fantastic flavor and aroma as possible accompanies them back to Norway.

While cashews can be eaten raw, we at FoodMan prefer to heat-treat them to ensure the best possible quality. Following the heat treatment, we sometimes choose to salt or season them. Subsequently, the cashew nuts are packed in airtight bags that are gas-flushed to preserve the flavor as effectively as possible.

Nuts are an excellent source of unsaturated fats, which are beneficial for cholesterol and good for heart health. Additionally, nuts contain many important vitamins and minerals such as vitamins E and B, calcium, potassium, and magnesium.

FoodMan's oil-roasted peanuts are perhaps the most well-known product in this category. The peanuts are imported from South America, which, in our opinion, cultivates the very best peanuts. The rich and full-bodied peanut flavor is enhanced through oil roasting in rapeseed oil. Finally, we add a touch of salt or an exciting blend of spices to the products that require it. To preserve the incredibly delicious flavor for as long as possible, the oil-roasted nuts are gas-flushed and packed in an airtight bag.

By the way, did you know that botanically, peanuts are actually legumes and not related to, for example, hazelnuts and other tree-growing nuts? Peanuts develop in pods underground. Inside each pod are two "nuts." Nutritionally and flavor-wise, peanuts resemble regular nuts and are typically referred to as such. Peanuts have a high content of heart-healthy unsaturated fats, as well as vitamins E and B, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, and phosphorus. Peanuts are also a source of protein and have a high dietary fiber content.

Here at FoodMan, we believe that chili nuts should have a lot of flavor. That's why we spice them up a bit more with our secret chili seasoning. Chili nuts are made from small, round peanuts coated with our unique flour blend. The nuts are then roasted and finally seasoned with the spicy chili blend that characterizes FoodMan's chili nuts.
